Women's Lacrosse Goes for Fourth Straight Win at Old Dominion

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY - The Purple Eagles will go for their fourth-straight win Friday when they travel to Norfolk, Va., to take on Old Dominion at noon from the L.R. Hill Sport Complex. 
 
Last Time Out
• The Purple Eagles outlasted East Carolina last week, defeating the Pirates, 14-13.
Andra Savage found the back of the net four times, becoming the third Purple Eagle to record three or more goals in a game this season.
• Niagara scored eight goals in the third quarter to take the lead and it never looked back en route to the win.
• The Purple and White finished the game with 16 shots on goal, 13 draw controls, 15-for-20 on clear attempts, and five caused turnovers.
• Rachel Crane won a team-best seven draw controls, followed by Brill with three.
• Rachel Crane, Garlow, and McCormick also recorded multi-goal games.
• Mara Hathaway and Savage led NU with three caused turnovers. Hathaway also led the team with four ground balls.
 
Niagara Notes
• The Purple Eagles are 4-2 this season, their best six-game start since 2006.
• Niagara's Lois Garlow leads the team with 15 goals, seven assists and 22 points.
Rachel Crane is second on the team with 10 goals and leads the team with 17 draw controls.
• Second on the team in assists is Brenna Duffy with five.
• Defender, TaNia Cunningham leads NU with 17 groundballs and is tied for the team lead with Jess Foley with seven caused turnovers.
• In goal, Michelle Messenger has started four of the six games in net for the Purple and White. The senior has a goals against average of 12.62 and save percentage of 40.0 percent. She recorded her first 10-plus save game of the season against Marquette earlier this season. 
• As a team, Niagara puts 73.7 percent of its shots on goal and averages 25.3 shots per contest.
• Niagara is 15-for-26 on free-position attempts this season.
• The Purple Eagles have gone 71-for-93 on clear attempts, a 76.3 percent mark.  

Series History
• Friday will mark the first-ever meeting between the Purple Eagles and Monarchs.

• The Purple and White will conclude their three-game road swing with a game against the Pitt Panthers at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh on March 21 at noon.
