Five Purple Eagles Named to All-MAAC Teams

EDISON, NJ – Five Purple Eagles, Ida Miceli, Emily Hähnel, Annie Ibey, Emma Davies, and Emma Ramsay, have been named to All-MAAC teams, the conference office announced Monday morning. 

Ida Miceli started 14 of 15 games during her final season on Monteagle Ridge, scoring two goals, including the first in NU's MAAC Quarterfinal win over Marist Sunday afternoon, as she landed herself on the All-MAAC First Team for the second consecutive season. Miceli, a team captain and preseason favorite to land on the first team, played in over 1,200 minutes, including a full 90-minutes of action in seven contests. Miceli has helped lead Niagara to its third MAAC Semifinals appearance in her tenure and the first since 2019. 

Annie Ibey, Niagara's leading goal scorer in 2022, earned a spot on the All-MAAC Second Team – her first All-MAAC honor since her freshman campaign. The fifth-year striker scored seven goals in 2022 and assisted five others for 19 points. Her seven tallies this season are tied for second in the conference and have moved her career total to 27, which is tied for seventh all-time in program history. The Niagara Falls, Ontario, native also ranks ninth in assists, fifth in points, and second in game-winning goals in the MAAC. 

In her first season on Monteagle Ridge, midfielder Emily Hähnel was selected to the All-MAAC Second Team. The Schkopau, Germany, product played in 17 of NU's 18 games, making 14 starts. She became known as a playmaker for the Purple Eagles, showcasing fancy footwork in the midfield, leading to three assists and a goal. Hähnel scored her lone goal of the season at Saint Peter's to help NU extend its unbeaten streak to three games. Niagara is 4-0 in games where Hähnel records a point. 

Emma Davies, an All-MAAC Second Team selection in 2021, earned a spot on the 2022 All-MAAC Third Team with her performance on the pitch this season. The St. Catherines, Ontario, native has registered an assist in her last two games, including one on NU's first goal against Marist on Sunday afternoon. She recorded her lone goal of the season in the Purple and White's win over Cornell on Sept. 1. In her Niagara career, she has tallied four goals and assisted on nine others. 

Grad transfer Emma Ramsay rounded out Niagara's All-MAAC honors with a spot on the Third Team. Ramsay played in 11 games, making seven starts before suffering an injury against Mount St. Mary's. During her lone season on Monteagle Ridge, Ramsay collected 661 minutes of action, including a full 90-minutes of action at Saint Peter's. She averaged just over 60-minutes per game during her final seven contests of the season. 

No. 3 Niagara will take on No. 2 Fairfield Thursday night in Fairfield, Conn. The battle between the Stags and Purple Eagles will kick off at 7 p.m. and air on ESPN3 or ESPN+.
