Women’s Soccer Drops Midweek Contest to Buffalo

The Purple Eagles fell short by a two-goal deficit against Buffalo at Niagara Field in Niagara University, N.Y.

The Bulls opened the scoring in the first half at the 14th minute with a strike from Laiken Kiser. Buffalo attempted to add to their one goal lead but thanks to freshman keeper Julia Poissant got across the goal and grabbed the ball that was looking to head for the upper left-hand corner.

Niagara recorded their first shot on goal of the contest at the 30th mark off the foot of Mahelie Barbeau forcing Buffalo's keeper to make a save in the bottom middle part of the net.

The Bulls added their second goal of the contest from Kiser who recorded her second tally of the contest at the 70th minute of play.

Poissant recorded a total of five saves in the contest, with three of her five coming in the first half of play.
