The Niagara women's lacrosse team opens its season at the Fairfield Stags on Saturday, March 13 at 12 p.m.

Scene Setter
  • The Purple Eagles start their 12-game conference only slate at Fairfield. Niagara will play its first home games of the season against Siena on March 19 and March 21.
  • The Purple Eagles were picked fifth in the Preseason Coaches' Poll after garnering 33 votes.
  • Niagara returns 26 of the 28 student-athletes who participated last season when the campaign was ended after seven games due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Head coach Wendy Stone returns for her ninth season at the helm.
  • The Purple Eagles trail in the all-time series, picking up their lone win in the series at Fairfield on April 23, 2016.

Match Tidbits
  • Michelle Messenger and Lauren Paul were named to the Preseason All-MAAC Women's Lacrosse team. Messenger was leading the nation in save percentage (.577) through 283 minutes played over seven games before the season was canceled.
  • Leading the way offensively will be Shea Swartwout who led the 2020 team in goals with 18 and points with 21, and Jenna Brill who was second on the team in goals with 14 and had a team-high four assists. MacKenzie Travis had a team-high six assists in seven games last season.
  • Lauren Paul starts the season 10 caused turnovers away from tying the career program record of 89 which is currently held by former teammate Alexandra Higgins (2015-18).
