NIAGARA UNIV., NY – Freshman defenseman
Josef Mysak was named to the Atlantic Hockey Association West Pod All-Rookie team as announced by the league office Thursday afternoon.
Mysak has played in 13 games this season, recording two goals, one assist, and three points.
Both tallies came on Jan. 3 in the Purple Eagles 7-2 win over Air Force. His assist came on a Niagara power-play against Mercyhurst in a 3-3 tie with the Lakers.
The blue liner has also made six blocks on the season, setting a season-high two against Robert Morris on Dec. 31 and again versus Air force on Jan. 4.
Mysak and the Purple Eagles continue their chase for an Atlantic Hockey title with a best-of-three series with Robert Morris this weekend. Game one is set for Friday at 7 p.m. from Clearview Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa.
