NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y – Niagara men's swimming and diving head coach Eric Bugby has announced the addition of 14 newcomers for the 2020-21 season.

Josh Curtis | Free | Palm Beach Gardens, FL | Jupiter Community Senior High School
Curtis joins the Purple Eagles from Jupiter Community Senior High School in Florida. For his high school team, Curtis earned MVP and Most Improved awards, as well as serving as a team captain. He swam at the club level with the Jupiter Dragons Swim Team and was part of its championship team.

Tim Donato | Fly/Free | Pittsford, NY | Home Schooled
Donato, who was home schooled, swam with the Fairport Area Swim Team. He placed third in the 200 fly SCY at the Eastern Zone meet. Donato also competed in fencing and wrestling.

Gio Germano | Back/Fly/Free | Emmaus, PA | Emmaus High School
Germano comes to Monteagle Ridge from Emmaus High School. Germano's high school team won 15 consecutive EPC titles and 12 consecutive District XI titles. He was a PIAA Honorable Mention for the 200 medley. Germano competed at the club level with the Emmaus Aquatic Club. He was an honor roll student and was part of the German Honor Society.

Tanner Isaacs | Breast/Free | Spring, TX | Oak Ridge Christian Academy
Isaacs comes to Niagara from Oak Ridge Christian Academy in Conroe, Texas. Isaacs competed at the club level with Swim Streamline at Northhampton. He also competed in water polo.

Payton LaBue | Free | Rochester, NY | Hilton Central High School
LaBue, the brother of Delaney LaBue, had a strong high school swimming career. He was both a First and Second All-County Team selection during high school and was an All-Greater Rochester honorable mention. He competed at the club level with HAST and he holds the team's 200 free record. LaBue was a high honor roll and academic merit student.

Rowan Markham | Fly/Free | Rochester, NY | Home Schooled
Markham, who was home schooled, competed with the Fairport Area Swim Team. He was a 2019 Eastern Zone team member, as well as being a gold team member. Markham also played tennis.

Ben McLaughlin | Breast/Free | Phoenix, AZ | Sunnyslope High School
McLaughlin joins the Purple Eagles from Phoenix, Arizona. With his high school team at the AIA Division II Championships, McLaughlin placed third in the 200 free relay, fourth in the 200 medley relay and 15^th in the 50 free. He also competed with the Phoenix Swim Club and placed first in the 50 free at the 2019 Arizona JO Long Course Championships.

Sam Schwabauer | Breast/IM | Bluffton, SC | Bluffton High School
Schwabauer comes to Monteagle Ridge from Bluffton High School. He competed with the Georgia Coastal Aquatic Team. In 2018, he placed eighth in the 100 IM at the Georgia Senior State Short Course Championship and third in the 200 IM and fourth in the 100 breast at the SCHSL 4A State Championship. In 2017, he placed second in the 50 free and third in the 100 breast at the South Carolina Swimming Short Course State Championship.

Josiah Shaffer | Breast/IM | Fombell, PA | Riverside High School
Shaffer joins the Purple Eagles from Riverside High School in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. He was part of three record-setting relay teams while in high school. He competed at the club level with Riverside Aqua Club of Ellwood. Shaffer was a National Honor Society member.

Graeme Staples | Fly/Free | Welland, ON | Notre Dame College School
Staples comes to NU after a decorated high school swimming career. He was a 2020 finalist for Male Athlete of the Year. He was named the MVP of his team four times and was a SOSSA champion in both the 100 fly and 200 free. Staples swam at the cub level with Star Swimming.

Kevin Vu | Fly/Free | Portland, OR | University of Tampa
Vu comes to Niagara after two season at the University of Tampa, where he was part of the 2020 Sunshine State Conference championship team. Vu attended West Linn High School, where he was an honor roll student and a member of National Honor Society. Vu was also a USA Swimming All-American Scholastic honoree.

TyQuann Walker | Breast | Valley Stream, NY | Valley Stream North High School
Walker joins the Purple Eagles from Valley Stream North High School. He swam at the club level with the Long Island Aquatic Club and was on the gold medal team.

Marco Wilson | Diving | Endicott, NY | Union Endicott High School
Wilson comes to Monteagle Ridge from Union Endicott high school. He earned a second place finish at the Waverly Invitational and holds his school's 11-dive record. Wilson also competed with Evolution Diving. He was a Scholar Athlete honoree.

James Zhang | Free | Allentown, PA | Parkland High School
Zhang arrives to Niagara via Parkland High School in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He was a team captain as well as a 10-time district finalist and a state qualifier. He competed at the club level with Parkland Swim Club and was on the Eastern Zone team, as well as being a Speedo sectionals qualifier.
