The Niagara Purple Eagles wrap up their two-game road swing with a trip to the McCann Center to play the Marist Red Foxes on Sunday, February 23 at 2 p.m.
 
Scene Setter
•  The Purple Eagles began their latest two-game road trip with a last second defeat to the Fairfield Stags on February 21.
•  Niagara, which led as much as 17 points in the first half, had a four-point lead with one minute remaining. However, the Stags scored the final five points with the game-winning basket coming with 11 seconds on the clock. 
•  The Purple Eagles and Red Foxes have split the last eight meetings with neither team winning more than two straight games during that stretch.
•  Niagara has alternated wins/losses in the last five trips to Marist (lost last visit).
•  The last two wins by both programs have been by an average of 20 points. The Red Foxes have won the last two meetings, 67-48 (January 31, 2020) and 79-58 (February 8, 2019), and prior to those games, Niagara won 100-76 (February 23, 2018) and 86-70 (January 7, 2018).      
 
Tipoff Tidbits
•  Marcus Hammond was named MAAC Player of the Week for the first time in his career on February 17.
•  The Purple Eagles lead the MAAC in turnover margin (3.7), turnovers per game (10.7), and fewest turnovers (278).  NU ranks 11th in the nation in fewest turnovers, 13th in turnovers per game, and 16th in turnover margin. 
•  Niagara is first in the MAAC in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.14) and had a positive assist-to-turnover ratio in 12 straight games from December 1 to January 19.
•  Marcus Hammond leads the Purple Eagles in scoring with a career-high 13.5 points per game and is averaging 15.7 points in league games which ranks third. He has scored in double figures a team-high 15 times, including a span of seven straight games from January 3-26.
•  Marcus Hammond scored a career-high 36 points to lead all scorers at Quinnipiac on January 10. Hammond's 36 points are the most by a Purple Eagle in two seasons and are tied for the most by a MAAC player this season.
•  Shandon Brown scored a career-high 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds versus Monmouth on February 16.
•  Marcus Hammond is second in the MAAC in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0).
•  NU is shooting a MAAC-leading 39.5 percent from 3-point range in conference games.
•  James Towns is averaging 13.3 points in the last three games, including a pair of 16-point games.
•  The Purple Eagles forced a season-high 20 turnovers and tied season-highs in field goals made (33) and in steals (13) against Quinnipiac on February 2. Niagara's three turnovers are the fewest since February 8, 2015 (Quinnipiac).

Marist Red Foxes (6-18, 5-10 MAAC)
•  The Red Foxes are 1-4, including having lost their last three games, since beating the Purple Eagles on January 31.
•  Michael Cubbage leads the Red Foxes in scoring at 9.8 points per game and his 1.5 steals per game are fourth in the MAAC.
•  Marist ranks first in the MAAC in defensive 3-point field goal percentage (.311) in league games, while also placing second in defensive field goal percentage (.401) and in 3-point field goal percentage (.378) in MAAC games.

•  The Purple Eagles and Red Foxes have split the last eight meetings.
•  NU leads the all-time series, but is 4-6 in the last 10 encounters with the Red Foxes.
