The Niagara Purple Eagles begin a stretch of three games in four days when they host nationally-ranked Clarkson on Wednesday, December 9 at 5 p.m.
Match Preview
• The Purple Eagles and Golden Knights have played each other 15 teams in a series that started during the 1997-98 season. Clarkson leads the all-time series, 9-4-2.
• Niagara and Clarkson will meet for the first time in five seasons. The Golden Knights are 4-0-1 in the last five meetings, including winning four straight.
• Clarkson is 2-0-1 on the season after wins over Colgate in its season opener and a split with RIT on November 27 and 29.

• Niagara opened its season against local rival RIT in a home-and-home series on December 5-6. The Purple Eagles jumped out a 3-0 first period lead, but were held to a 3-3 tie in the opener in Rochester, N.Y. on December 5. On the next day at Dwyer, Niagara scored the game's first goal before RIT reeled off five unanswered.

Croix Evingson and
Walker Sommer each were a plus-2 in opening weekend series, joining

• The Purple Eagles are coming off a season in which they went 12-18-4-2, and clinched the fifth seed in the Atlantic Hockey Tournament on the last day of the regular season.
• Niagara was selected fourth in the AHA Preseason Poll, including one first-place vote.

Jack Billings – Niagara's top scorer from 2019-20 – is among Niagara's top returning point-getters from last season. Eight of the team's top 10 scorers from last year will be back on Monteagle Ridge this season, and the team retains more than 80 percent of its scoring.

Chris Harpur enters his fourth season in the Purple and White with the captain's "C" on his jersey after serving as an alternate captain for a portion of his junior season. Harpur finished fifth on the team with 12 points (4 G, 8 A) during the 2019-20 campaign.
