After an unbelievable comeback win at Quinnipiac on Saturday, the Niagara women's lacrosse team is looking to keep the momentum alive with Marist coming to town. A win by the Purple Eagles would vault them over the Red Foxes and into a playoff position with three games to play.

Niagara Notes
  • In their last game on April 6, the Purple Eagles turned a nine-goal deficit on its head to shock the Bobcats in an exhilarating, last-minute, 15-14 victory. Niagara outscored Quinnipiac, 11-3, in the second half to steal a much-needed conference win.
  • With 9.77 draw controls per game, MacCheyne has the third-best rate of all Division I players. She has now won 127 this year, which broke the previous program single-season record of 111 set by Alexandra Higgins in 2017. If MacCheyne continues to hold this pace, she will surpass the existing MAAC record of 7.16 draw controls per game set in 2017 by Marist's Hailey Wagner.
  • Rachel MacCheyne scored six times in the effort to jump into a tie for 13th in the country in terms of goals per game (3.54). Should she maintain that clip, she will finish among the top 20 scoring seasons ever by a MAAC athlete.

Milestone Watch
  • Caroline Crump
    • Needs seven assists for 20 on the year, which will tie her personal record for the ninth-most successful season in that category.
  • Hailey D'Hont
    • Is eight caused turnovers away from joining Niagara's career top 10 (45).
  • Aubrey DeVeau
    • Needs five saves to tie Olivia Schneider (97) and enter Niagara's top 10.
  • Maren Geiger
    • Two more saves will make her the 10th goalie in team history to notch 100 for her career.
  • Rachel MacCheyne
    • Will become the program's all-time leading scorer by notching one more goal. She currently sits tied with Mary Cutia ('00) with 171 career goals.
    • Two more goals will give her the fifth-most in a single season by a Purple Eagle.
    • Seven more draw controls will give MacCheyne the Niagara career record.
    • Nine more points will move her into the eighth-most productive season in terms of points in MAAC history.
    • 10 more draw controls will break the MAAC's current single-season record of 136.
    • Is two caused turnovers away from joining Niagara's career top 10 (45).
  • Amy McNally
    • Is four caused turnovers away from joining Niagara's career top 10 (45).
  • Alexis Morales
    • Can move into sole possession of ninth-place all-time with four more points, passing Ashley Baker (125).
  • Lauren Paul
    • Will become the eighth player in school history with 100 career ground balls with two more pickups.

Scouting The Red Foxes

  • Hailey Wagner ranks second in the nation with 10.85 draw controls per game and first with 141 draw controls.
  • Samantha Mehalick's 3.69 goals per game put her 10th in the country.
  • Delaney Gavin has played all but 14 minutes for the Red Foxes this season, racking up a 13.93 goals-against average and a .403 save percentage in 13 games.
