WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Purple Eagles fell to Monmouth, 8-3, in their series finale on Sunday.

Game Recap
  • Niagara took a 2-0 lead in the first inning with a two-RBI single from Josh Marchese.
  • In the top of the second inning, Benny Serrano tripled to right center, scoring Dawson Bailey to extend Niagara's lead, 3-0.
  • The Hawks, however, made a big comeback with a grand slam in the fifth frame to take the lead, 4-3.
  • Monmouth added four more runs, all scored in the sixth inning, and earned the victory to win the series.

Eagle's Eye On…
  • Bailey, Serrano, Michael Gabriele and Darian Blanks each had two hits.
  • Bailey and Serrano each had one triple and Blanks had a double.
  • Marchese led the Purple Eagles in RBI with two.
  • Tyler Howard (3-6) took the loss on the mound. He struck out three and was responsible for six earned runs in 5.1 innings pitched.
