LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Purple Eagles dropped a pair of games to the Bucknell Bison on Saturday.

Game Recap
  • The Bison took a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring five runs on two hits.
  • In the bottom of the fifth frame, an RBI triple and an RBI double from Bucknell extended its lead, 7-0.
  • Niagara scored in the top of the sixth. Cole O'Connor singled to left field, scoring Benny Serrano.
  • The Bison, however, held onto their lead and earned the 7-1 victory.

Eagle's Eye On…
  • O'Connor and Max Giordano each recorded one hit for the Purple Eagles and O'Connor had one RBI.
  • Jordan Parranto (0-3) took the loss on the mound. He fanned six batters and allowed five earned runs in 3.1 innings pitched.

Game Recap
  • The Bison got on the board first in game two, taking a 2-0 lead over the Purple Eagles in the bottom of the second inning. Bucknell extended its lead, 5-0, in the bottom of the fourth.
  • With two runners on base for Niagara in the top of the sixth, Michael Gabriele reached base on an error and advanced on the throw. Giordano scored, unearned, to cut Bucknell's lead to four, 5-1.
  • The Bison, however, had a monster eighth inning, scoring eight runs and making it tough for the Purple Eagles to mount a comeback in the ninth. Bucknell earned the 13-1 win to sweep the day's doubleheader and to sweep the three-game series with the Purple Eagles.

Eagle's Eye On…
  • Dawson Bailey and Matthew Grace each recorded one hit for NU. Grace's hit was a double.
  • On the mound, Tyler Howard (1-2) struck out five and allowed four earned runs in 6.0 innings pitched.
