The Niagara Purple Eagles, who have won two of their last three games, will travel to Poughkeepsie to take on the Marist Red Foxes on Friday, February 8 at 7 p.m.
 
Scene Setter
•  The Purple Eagles concluded their season-long four-game homestand with a 2-2 mark with wins over Monmouth and Canisius.
•  Niagara won its first conference road game of the season in its most recent away contest, prevailing over Quinnipiac, 75-72, on January 19.
•  The Purple Eagles and Red Foxes are scheduled to meet only once this season. Niagara swept last season series by an average margin of victory of 20 points. 
•  Niagara is looking to win consecutive games at Marist for the first time since winning three straight from 2002-04.
 
Tipoff Tidbits
•  Marvin Prochet is second in the MAAC in scoring with a career-high 17.8 points per game and is second in rebounding with 7.5 boards per game.  He is on pace to setting the program single-season 3-point field goal percent record as his career-high 46.2 three-point FG percent leads the league and ranks third in the nation. Prochet also leads the MAAC in 3-pointers per game (3.0) and is shooting a career-high 44.8 percent from the field.
•  Dominic Robb is eight blocks away from tying Joe Arlauckas ('87), who finished his career with 220 blocks, for most blocks in program history.
•  Dominic Robb leads the MAAC in total blocks (56) and blocks per game (2.5) while ranking tenth and 15th, respectively, in those categories nationally. Robb's 56 blocks are tied for eighth most in program history.
•  James Towns is second in the MAAC in free throw percentage with a career-high 82.4 percent. Towns is also averaging career-high numbers in assists per game (4.0) and in assist/turnover ratio (1.7) which are seventh and third, respectively, in the MAAC.
•  Greg King tied his season-high in scoring for the second consecutive game with 10 points, while also co-leading the team in rebounds with eight, against Quinnipiac on February 3. King also established a new career-high in assists with three in the game.
•  Five Purple Eagles netted double figures against Quinnipiac on February 3 for the third time this season.
•  The Purple Eagles lead the MAAC and ranks the top-40 in the nation in free throw percentage (.749). The program record is 76.5 percent set during the 1987-88 season.
•  Niagara is second in the conference in blocks per game (3.8), total blocks (87), fewest turnovers (275), and in turnovers per game (12.0),
•  According to KenPom.com, the Purple Eagles rank 11th in the nation in opponent free throw rate (24.6) which captures a team's ability to get to the free-throw line.
 
On The Court
Marist Red Foxes (9-14, 4-7 MAAC)
•  Marist leads the MAAC in three-point field goal percentage (.374) and is second in field goal percentage (.455).
•  Two Red Foxes are currently averaging double figures in scoring this season - Brian Parker (14.6 ppg) and Ryan Funk (11. 2). Funk leads both the team and the conference in free throw percentage (.917).
•  David Knudsen, who is averaging 8.0 points per game this season for Marist, is fourth in the MAAC in three-point field goal percentage (.429).
 
Against The Red Foxes (Niagara Leads 28-20)
•  Over the last four seasons, both teams have earned a pair of sweeps against the other. Niagara won both games in 2015-16 and 2017-18, while Marist won both meetings during the 2014-15 and 2016-17 seasons.
•  Nine of the last 12 meetings have been decided by six points or less. 
•  The Purple Eagles are 8-13 all-time at Marist.
