Game Preview
  • In its second home game of the season, Niagara looks for its third straight win while CCSU looks for its second.
  • In the last matchup between the Purple Eagles (2-0, 0-0 MAAC) and CCSU in 2011, CCSU clinched a win of 13-12 on Niagara Field.
  • All-time against the Blue Devils, the Purple Eagles hold a 2-1 lead in the series.
  • In the contest this Saturday, sisters Amanda Brown, of Niagara, and Carrisa Brown, of CCSU, go head-to-head for the first time as collegiate athletes. Last year as freshmen, Carrisa played in all of Central Connecticut's 16 games while Amanda was red-shirted.

Niagara Notes
  • In Niagara's last game in Binghamton, the Purple Eagles came from behind to tie the game five times before taking their first lead with 11 minutes left and holding on to win, 11-9.
  • Hailey D'Hont and Rachel MacCheyne both had three goals against the Bearcats, accounting for more than half of the Purple Eagles' 11 goals.
  • In goal, freshman Maren Geiger had 14 saves in her first full game in goal.
  • MacCheyne and Geiger were each given awards by the MAAC for their performances last week. MacCheyne's eight-goal week made her the conference's Offensive Player of the Week, while Geiger's two wins and .667 save percentage made her Niagara's first Rookie of the Week since D'Hont won the honor in 2016.
  • Alex Leo picked up two goals in the second half, the first assisted by Shea Swartwout and another unassisted goal with 31 seconds left on the clock.

Scouting The Blue Devils
  • In Central Connecticut State's last game against Hartford, Carson Adelberger poured in five goals on nine shots to lead the Blue Devils offensively.
  • Jessica Denike, Kaitlyn Rapp and Morgan Sinton were the only other Blue Devils to finish with multiple points.
  • Senior Jackie Branthover had eight saves in goal, giving her 24 in the first two games of the season.
