Women’s Lacrosse Ready To Take On Bearcats

Game Preview
  • The Bearcats and Purple Eagles will meet tomorrow for the sixth consecutive season.
  • In each of the team's previous three meetings, the game was decided by a mere one goal. Last year, Niagara came away on the victorious end of an 8-7 decision at home.
  • When playing at Binghamton, Niagara has a 2-4 record dating back to 2002. The most recent trip to play the Bearcats ended in a 6-5 overtime defeat for the Purple Eagles in 2016.
  • In 13 all-time meetings, Binghamton has an 8-5 record over Niagara.

  • The Purple Eagles are coming off an entertaining 17-2 home win against Saint Bonaventure on Friday.
  • Maren Geiger earned the win in her first collegiate start, giving up just one goal and making six saves in 43 minutes of action.
  • Rachel MacCheyne led the Niagara offense with five goals, including four in the first half.
  • Caroline Crump scored three times, giving her seven hat tricks in her last eight games dating back to last season.
  • Niagara only lost four draw controls all game, while Rachel MacCheyne was responsible for 13 of the team's 15 wins.
 
Scouting The Bearcats
  • Binghamton was beaten by Syracuse, 15-5, in their season opener at No. 15 Syracuse on February 12.
  • The Bearcats scored their first goal with one second left before halftime to make it a 9-0 game. After Syracuse came out and scored six straight times to open the second, Binghamton struck for four goals in the final eight minutes to close the deficit to 10.
  • Lindsey Stephen scored once and added an assist to lead the team offensively.
  • Goalie Taylor Passuello played the entire 60 minutes, making 13 saves in the loss.
