The Niagara Purple Eagles continue their four-game homestand on Saturday against the Monmouth Hawks at 3 p.m.
 
Scene Setter
•  The Purple Eagles were edged by the Saint Peter's Peacocks, 74-72, on January 22 in their first of four straight home games.
•  Five of Niagara's nine wins have come at the Gallagher Center with victories over St. Bonaventure, New Hampshire, Cornell, Norfolk State, and Iona.
•  Niagara won its first conference road game of the campaign by holding off Quinnipiac in a 75-72 victory on January 19 to split a pair of road games last week.
•  Niagara swept Monmouth last season for the first time since the Hawks joined the MAAC in the 2013-14 season. Niagara clipped Monmouth, 78-77, in the Gallagher Center on January 12 before defeating the Hawks, 96-91, on their home court on February 4 which sprung a four-game win streak.
 
Tipoff Tidbits
•  Niagara shot a season-high 51.9 percent from the field and a season-high 58 percent from the 3-point line in the win at Quinnipiac on January 19. 
•  Marvin Prochet tied his career-high in scoring for the second straight game, and third time this season, with a team-leading 24 points versus Saint Peter's. Prochet drained a career-best six 3-pointers, including making his first five attempts, and had a team-high eight rebounds.
•  In the win at Quinnipiac, Marvin Prochet shot a career-best 81.8 percent from the field which is tied for league-high this season en route to tying his career-high in points.
•  Marvin Prochet is averaging a career-high 17.6 points which are third in the MAAC and averaging 7.8 boards which are second in the MAAC. His career-high 45.9 percent from the 3-point line leads the league and he is shooting a career-high 44.8 percent from the field.
•  Dominic Robb is 11 blocks away from tying Joe Arlauckas ('87), who finished his career with 220 blocks, for first place.
•  Dominic Robb leads the MAAC in total blocks (53) and blocks per game (2.6) while ranking seventh and 11th, respectively, in those categories nationally.
•  Chris Barton has averaged 12.5 points while shooting 81.8 percent (9-for-11) from the field in the last two games. Barton scored a season-high 14 points at Quinnipiac and netted 11 points against Saint Peter's.
•  Raheem Solomon's career-high five 3-pointers and 71.0 3-point field goal percent versus Saint Peter's are both tied for second-most on the team this season.  
•  James Towns sits atop of the MAAC in free throw percentage with a career-high 82 percent. Towns is also averaging career-high numbers in assists per game (4.1) and in assist/turnover ratio (1.6) which are both fifth in the MAAC.
•  Marvin Prochet collected his MAAC-leading seventh double-double with a team-high 20 points and 10 rebounds against Iona on January 11. 
 
On The Court
Monmouth Hawks (6-15, 5-3 MAAC)
•  Monmouth was picked fifth in the MAAC Preseason Poll.
•  The Hawks had their four-game win streak snapped at Canisius on January 24.
•  Two Monmouth players are averaging double figures in scoring - Ray Salnave (13.0 ppg) and Deion Hammond (12.4 ppg).
•  The Hawks rank second in the league in defensive field goal percentage, but is 10th in field goal percentage.
 
Against The Hawks (Monmouth Leads 9-3)
•  Niagara earned its first season sweep over Monmouth last season, and is eyeing its first three-game winning streak against the Hawks in program history.
•  Last season's 78-77 win on January 12 snapped Niagara's nine-game losing streak in the series.
