NIAGARA UNIV. N.Y. – Riding their longest unbeaten streak since 2014, the Niagara Purple Eagles return to Niagara Field on Saturday when they battle the Quinnipiac Bobcats at 1 p.m.
 
Scene Setter
  • Prior to Wednesday's game against Siena, Niagara was on a four-game winning streak, picking up wins against St. Francis (PA), St. Bonaventure, Iona and Rider. On Sept. 26, the Purple Eagles and the Saints played to a 0-0 draw, keeping Niagara unbeaten in conference play.
  • The four-game win streak was Niagara's longest dating back to Sept. 26-Oct. 3, 2015, when the team earned wins against Fairfield, Iona, Siena and Quinnipiac.
  • The Purple Eagles, who are 4-0-0 at Niagara Field this season, are looking to extend their best home start since the 1988 season, when the team went undefeated at home.
  • The Purple Eagles are on their longest unbeaten streak dating back to 2014, when the team was unbeaten in their final eight games.
 
Kickoff Tidbits
  • The Purple Eagles are currently in a tie for first place in the MAAC with Quinnipiac with seven points (2-0-1).
  • In its most recent game, Niagara played to a scoreless tie at Siena. It was Niagara's fifth shutout of the season and was the first time in six games the Purple Eagles failed to score.
  • Kelsey Araujo tied with a team-high five shots, while Annie Ibey also recorded five shots, including a team-leading three shots on goal. Hailey Bicknell, Selena Mangoni and Ida Miceli also had three shots for the Purple Eagles.
  • The Purple Eagles rank second in the MAAC in shots per game (16.4), and are second in shutouts this season (five).
  • Ibey's four-game winning goals lead the conference and are currently tied for the fifth-most in the NCAA.
  • Ibey currently leads the team in points with 13 (four goals, two assists), the second-most across the MAAC.
  • Araujo is currently second in the MAAC in both shots and shots per game, with 40 and 4.0, respectively.

Quinnipiac Bobcats (5-4-1, 2-0-1 MAAC)
  • The Bobcats come into Saturday's contest 4-0-1 in their last five games, including most recently back-to-back wins against Fairfield and Iona.
  • Junior goalkeeper Olivia Myszewski earned the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week Award on Sept. 24 after her 3-0 win against Fairfield on Sept. 22.
  • Quinnipiac is currently second in the MAAC in assists per game (1.67) and saves per game (6.0), while also receiving a conference-leading six yellow cards this season.
  • Niagara leads the all-time series, 3-1-1, with Quinnipiac winning the most recent matchup on Oct. 14, 2017..
