The Purple Eagles head to California to play the San Diego State Aztecs on Tuesday, March 6.
 
Last Time Out
  • The Purple Eagles suffered their first loss of the season in a 23-15 defeat at Marquette on Saturday, March 3.
  • Niagara was attempting to start 4-0 for the first time in program history.
  • With the game tied at 8-8, the Golden Eagles outscored Niagara 8-2 in the final 10 minutes to take a 16-10 halftime lead.
  • Rachel MacCheyne had team-highs with six goals, two assists, eight points and nine draw controls. Alexis Morales (3G 1A), Caroline Crump (2G 1 A) and Shea Swartwout (2G) had multi-point games. Alexandra Higgins collected two groundballs and eight draw controls.

  • Leading the way: The Purple Eagles are first the MAAC in win percentage (.750), scoring offense (14.0), shots per game (31.7), shots on goal per game (24.2), caused turnovers per game (13.0), draws control per game (14.7), and ground balls per game (26.7).
  • The Purple Eagles are third and sixth in the nation in ground balls per game and caused turnovers per game, respectively.
  • NU is second in the conference in assists per game (6.0), points per game (20.0), and scoring margin (1.5).
  • Rachel MacCheyne leads the MAAC in goals (15), points (22), assists per game (1.75), shots per game (8.5) and  shots on goal per game (6.0).
  • Caroline Crump is close behind with 14 goals and 16 points.
  • Lauren Paul leads the team in caused turnovers with nine, followed by Alexandria Higgins and Jillian Ford with eight.
  • Paul also leads Niagara in ground balls with 19 followed by Higgins with 13.  
  • Olivia Schroeder and Aubrey DeVeau have split time in net for the Purple Eagles. Schreoder has a .454 save percentage while DeVeauh has a .423 save percentage.
 
On the Field: San Diego State Aztecs (3-2, 0-0 MPSF)
  • The Aztecs are 3-2 on the season with wins against Cal, Arizona State, and St. Bonaventure. Their two losses have come on the road against nationally-ranked opponents – No. 21 Denver and No. 20 Colorado.
  • Jill Haight leads the Aztecs in points (15), goals (13), draw controls (28), ground balls (9), and caused turnovers (7).
  • Harlowe Steele has 11 goals and 13 points, while Elizabeth Rourke is third on the team with 12 points.
  • San Diego State will host Presbyterian on Monday afternoon before playing the Purple Eagles on Tuesday.
  • This will be the first-ever meeting between the programs.
