EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Niagara baseball team fell to Michigan State, 10-1, in the first game of a four-game series on Thursday.

Game Recap
- Michigan State got on the board in the bottom of the second inning, taking a 5-0 lead over the Purple Eagles. The Spartans would not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the game.
- The Spartans added on one run in the third and one in the seventh inning to take a 7-0 lead over NU going into the eighth inning.
- In the top of the eighth, Cullen singled to left field to send Bailey home for Niagara's lone run of the game.
- The Spartans tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, earning the 10-1 victory over the Purple Eagles.
Inside the Numbers
- Bailey led the Purple Eagles with two hits and one run scored. Bailey and Steven Kokoski each had one double.
- Cullen had one RBI and Cullen, Peter Battaglia, Owen Dziados, Joseph Tevlin and Kokoski each recorded one hit.
- Tyler Howard (0-1) took the loss on the mound. He struck out two batters and allowed two earned runs in 4.0 innings pitched.
