The Niagara Purple Eagles, winners of seven of their last eight, start a two-game New Jersey road swing against the Saint Peters Peacocks on Friday, February 2 at 7 pm.
 
Scene Setter
•  NU set season-highs in points, field goal percentage, free throws made, 3-pointers made, and in 3-point field goal percentage en route to defeating rival Canisius, 105-89, on January 27.
•  Niagara boasts the second most overall wins (14) in the conference and sits in a tie for third place with a 7-3 MAAC record.
•  Niagara went 7-1 in the month of January for its best January mark since going 9-1 in 2013.
•  Niagara is 8-4 on the road this season, including a 4-1 road record in conference games, and is the only team in the MAAC with a winning overall road record.
•  The Purple Eagles and Peacocks have alternated victories in the last nine meetings.
•  The Purple Eagles held off the Peacocks, 73-70, on January 14 and will be looking to sweep the series for the first time in five seasons.
•  Chris Casey was an assistant coach at Saint Peter's from 1990-98 where he helped the Peacocks to the 1991 and 1995 MAAC Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances. Casey is 5-4 against Saint Peter's as head coach at Niagara.

•  Matt Scott is 10th on the all-time list with 1,649 points and is seven points behind Alex Ellis ('58) for ninth. Scott ranks 26th among active scorers in NCAA Division I.
•  Kahlil Dukes is five points away from scoring 1,000 points at Niagara. Dukes will be the 46th member of the 1,000-point club.

Saint Peter's Peacocks (8-13, 2-8 MAAC)
•  After losing to Niagara on January 14, the Peacocks have dropped their last four games to extend their losing streak to six games. Three of the last four games have been decided by less than four points, including a triple-overtime defeat at Siena in their most recent game. 
•  Three Peacocks are averaging double figures, led by preseason All-MAAC Third Team selection Nick Griffin (13.8 ppg), Davauhnte Turner (11.7 ppg), and Samuel Idowu (11.1 ppg).
•  Saint Peter's leads the MAAC in scoring defense (67.9 ppg), defensive field goal percentage (.419), and 3-point field goal percentage (.334).
   
Against the Peacocks (Niagara leads 51-32)

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The MAAC's top two leading scorers, Matt Scott and Kahlil Dukes, combined for 44 points as the Purple Eagles grinded out a 73-70 win over the Saint Peter's Peacocks on Sunday to extend their win streak to four games.
