Last weekend the Niagara Purple Eagles hockey team closed out a four-game road trip with two games at Holy Cross, dropping the first game of the weekend series 3-1 before an emphatic 6-0 win on Jan. 20. The big win to close the road stretch was capped by a pair of career firsts, as Stanislav Dzakhov registered his first career hat trick, included the first and last goals of a run of four Niagara goals in 5:42 in the first period, and Brian Wilson earned his first career shutout with 26 saves. With the split, Niagara held pace in the Atlantic Hockey standings, currently sitting in third and trailing first-place Canisius and Holy Cross by two points.

With eight games to go in the regular season, the Purple Eagles turn their attention to Air Force, the team's opponents for 7:05 p.m. matchups on Friday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 27 at Dwyer Arena. Niagara defeated Air Force by scores of 6-3 and 5-2 on Dec. 1 and 2, 2017, and the Falcons have posted a 4-3-0 record since that weekend.

Both of this weekend's games can be streamed live through AtlanticHockey.tv, and Saturday's game will be televised locally on LCTV. Paul Hamilton has the play-by-play call all weekend on WLVL 1340 AM.
