The Niagara men's soccer team looks to gain some momentum to fuel their season this weekend at the Mayor's Cup after tough losses in the Peter Baldwin Memorial Classic. The Purple Eagles kick off the tournament Friday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m. against the Robert Morris Colonials. Niagara closes out the Mayor's Cup against hosts Hartwick College Hawks on Sunday, Sept. 10 with a 3 p.m. kickoff.

Purple Points
- Last weekend, the Purple Eagles faced off in the Peter Baldwin Memorial Classic against the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils and Vermont Catamounts. Konrad Zydowicz picked up his second career goal against Central Connecticut State on Sept. 1.
- After Niagara allowed a goal in the first minute, Zydowicz headed home a rebound to tie the game in the sixth minute after the initial shot by Mbongeni Tshuma hit the crossbar. The Purple Eagles went on to lose the match 3-1.
- Niagara fell to host Vermont 2-0 to close out the tournament on Sept. 3. Borna Juracic and Zulfikar Karimi both recorded a team-high two shots.
- Karimi led Niagara last weekend with four total shots and goalie Joel Gerberich recorded a combined ten saves from the two games.
- The Purple Eagles will face off against Robert Morris for the first time since their matchup last season on Aug. 26. Niagara won that road matchup 4-0.
- Niagara last met Hartwick for a regular-season match 14 seasons ago on Oct. 4, 2003, a matchup won by the Hawks 1-0.
- Niagara head coach Bill Boyle played for Hartwick men's soccer from 1994-98, helping the Owls to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament in 1995.

Robert Morris Colonials (0-4)
- Robert Morris faces Niagara for the first time since the Purple Eagles claimed a 4-0 win in last season's matchup. The Colonials lead the all-time series 9-7.
- In their last game, the Colonials fell to Marshall 2-1 after allowing the go-ahead goal in the final minute of regulation.
- Senior Bayley Winkel leads the Colonials offensively with three goals and seven points.
- Senior goalkeeper Winter Fondi has played every minute in net for the Colonials this season, accumulating 27 saves and a 2.91 goals against average.

Hartwick Hawks (0-3)
- This is the first regular-season meeting between the Hawks and Purple Eagles since a 1-0 win for Hartwick in 2003.
- The Hawks fell in their last outing against MAAC opponent Saint Peter's 1-0.
- Seniors Marc Berry and Jamie O'Grady lead the team with two points and have the team's only two goals this season.
- Junior keeper Lenny Wilson has recorded 18 saves and posted a 2.33 goals against average in three appearances this year.
