Syracuse, N.Y. - Chase Dade recorded the lone goal of the match to defeat state rival Le Moyne 1-0 at the Ted Grant Field in Syracuse, N.Y.
Niagara improved to 1-3-0 while Le Moyne fell to 3-1-1 in the season.
Buffalo, N.Y. native Chase Dade put the Purple Eagles on the board and scored the game-winner in the 33rd minute of action as he stripped the ball from the Dolphins' defender, dribbled toward the center of the field, and scored into the upper right part of the cage to give Niagara a 1-0 advantage.
Niagara recorded a total of seven shots, and two made it to the Le Moyne keeper, while the Dolphins recorded 11 shots, with one shot in
Grant Wyles' direction.
Coach Boyle on today's performance:
"Really proud of these guys. We talked before the game about competing and fighting like a pack of dogs—hunting together, working together and fighting for each other for 90 minutes. That's what we did today.
We've been working hard on our defensive blocks, hunting together and getting better at turning teams over, and it paid off with a clean sheet against a good Le Moyne team.
We're improving offensively too—creating more, keeping the ball better and becoming more efficient in the attack.
This was a total team effort. Every guy played a part, including the guys who worked all week to prepare us and get it right.
