The Niagara Purple Eagles will play their first official home game of the 2017-18 season when they host Alabama A&M as part of the Barclays Center Classic Campus Round on Friday, Nov. 24 at 4 p.m.
 
Scene Setter
•  After hosting two exhibitions, Niagara will play its first official home game of the season on Friday to start a homestand with four games in six days.
•  NU opened the season the four straight road games. The Purple Eagles defeated Little 3 rival St. Bonaventure, 77-75, in the season opener. Niagara, then, lost the last three road games (No. 14/15 Minnesota, UMass, BYU). 
•  Since the 2007-08 season, the Purple Eagles are 7-3 when opening their home schedule, including winning four of their last six.
 
Tipoff Tidbits
•  Matt Scott (24.3) and Kahlil Dukes (21.3) are first and second, respectively, in scoring in the MAAC through four games. The duo is accounting for 57 percent of Niagara's scoring.
•  Matt Scott, who is 13th in the nation in scoring, led all scorers with a career-high 36 points at BYU. The 36 points are the most points by a Purple Eagle since Antoine Mason's 38 points against Marist on March 6, 2014.
•  Matt Scott is 27th on the career scoring list and is five points away from tying James Reaves ('04) and Charlie Hoxie ('55) for 25th.
•  Kahlil Dukes leads the MAAC and is 19th in the nation with 3.75 3-pointers per game.
•  Kahlil Dukes has made 15 straight free throws. He had streaks of 17 and 20 consecutive made free throws last season. Dukes is SECOND in the NCAA in free throw percentage (.914) among active career leaders.
•  Redshirt-junior forward Greg King has had one block in all four games, including a career-high three at BYU. 
•  Niagara is the highest scoring offense in the MAAC at 80.5 points per game. The Purple Eagles have scored over 80 points twice, including a season-high 88 points at BYU. NU also leads the MAAC in free throw percentage (.750).
 
Barclays Center Classic
•  Niagara is participating in the sixth Barclays Center Classic. The Purple Eagles played their first game at UMass on Nov. 19 and their second at BYU on Nov. 21 as part of the opening round.
•  The Purple Eagles will host the campus site portion of the tournament from Nov. 24-25. • Niagara will play Alabama A&M on Friday, Nov. 24 at 4 p.m., followed by Western Carolina versus UT Arlington at 7 p.m.
•  On Nov. 25, the consolation and championship games will be played.
•  This will be Niagara's first time hosting a tournament since November 2012.

On The Court
Alabama A&M Bulldogs (0-4, 0-0 SWAC)
•  The Bulldogs are led by first-year head coach Donnie Marsh and return six letterwinners from last season's 2-27 team including De' Ederick Petty who was second on the team in scoring (13.3 ppg). Alabama A&M welcomes 10 newcomers to this year's team.
•  The Bulldogs are 0-4 on the season with all four loses on the road.
•  Two Bulldogs are averaging in double figures scoring – Arthur Johnson (12.8 ppg) and De'Ederick Petty (11.8 ppg). Andre Kennedy leads the team in rebounding (6.0 rpg).
