NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara University swimmer Eric Ebert has been named to the 2015-16 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Men's At-Large Second Team.

Ebert is one of 16 student-athletes on the second team and one of seven who had a 4.0 grade-point average. The At-Large Teams are comprised of athletes in fencing, golf, gymnastics, hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, volleyball, water polo, and wrestling.

Ebert qualified for COSIDA Academic All-America honors after being selected to the All-District team in May. Ebert was one of 10 NCAA Division I student-athletes from colleges located in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont to receive this honor, and one of 18 Division I swimmers across the country named to their respective All-District Team.

During the 2015-16 season, Ebert swam times in five events that ranked among the 10 best by Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) swimmers. Ebert earned the conference's fourth-best 50 back time (24.20) while ranking eighth in the 100 back (52.92) and tenth in the 200 back (1:55.85). He also recorded the eighth-best times of any MAAC swimmer in the 50 free (21.61) and 50 fly (25.21).

Additionally, Ebert swam on the relay team that broke the Niagara program record in the 400 free relay this season, as he teamed with Robert Brown, James Crumm, and Shawn Warner to swim a 3:04.72 at the MAAC Championships. He was also a part of the record-setting 200 free relay team in 2014.

A native of Lewiston, New York, Ebert maintained a perfect 4.0 grade-point average at Niagara and was a three-time MAAC All-Academic Team honoree, earning the award each year he was eligible. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology.
