Niagara Starts Final Home Weekend Versus Marist Thursday

The Niagara Purple Eagles are back at the Gallagher Center for their last two games of the regular season beginning on Thursday, February 18 against the Marist Red Foxes at 7 p.m.
 
Scene Setter
•  Six of the last seven meetings have been decided by less than six points, including Niagara's 69-66 win at Marist on January 28.   
•  The Purple Eagles erased a 15-point deficit with less than 12 minutes remaining in the game behind a career night by Matt Scott who led the game with a career-high 32 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, four steals and a career-high 40 minutes. Scott gave NU its first lead of the game on a steal and layup with 3:39 left and had the game-winning assists on Karonn Davis' 3-pointer with three seconds left.
•  Niagara has a 15-3 all-time series record at home.
•  The Purple Eagles are looking for a season sweep for the first time since the 2012-13 season.

•  Matt Scott is one of two players in the MAAC (Siena's Brett Bisping) to have at least nine 20-point games and six 10-rebound games.
•  Matt Scott is seventh in the MAAC in scoring with 16.0 per game, fifth in rebounds with 7.0 per game, and ninth in steals with 1.4 per game. Scott is the only player in the MAAC to rank in the top 10 in points, rebounds and steals per game.
• In the last four games, Emile Blackman has averaged 16 points per game while shooting 45 percent (23-for-51) from the field and 91.7 percent (11-for-12) from the free-throw line.
•  NU will play its final home game of the season against Fairfield on Saturday.

•  Emile Blackman needs 25 points to reach 1,000 points in his career.

•  Matt Scott recorded his sixth double-double of the season and of his career on February 5 against Rider with 16 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
•  His six double-doubles are fourth most in the MAAC this season. 
•  The six double-doubles are the most by a Purple Eagle since Bilal Benn had 13 during the 2009-10 season.

Marist Red Foxes (5-20, 2-14 MAAC)
•  Marist comes to Monteagle Ridge 1-14 in its last 15 games, with a victory over Siena on February 7 to snap a then 11-game losing streak.
•  Khallid Hart is 16th in the NCAA and second in the MAAC with 21.2 points per game as well as 18th in the NCAA and 1st in the MAAC with 36:55 minutes played.
•  The Red Foxes only have one MAAC road victory this season, defeating the Manhattan Jaspers 75-70 on December 6.
 
Against the Red Foxes (Niagara leads 25-18)
•  Niagara has won 11 of the last 17 meetings in the series.
• Niagara is 8-2 in its last 10 home meetings with Marist, with a Red Fox victory last season snapping a seven-game home win streak for the Purple Eagles.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Matt Scott's career-high 32 points and a 3-pointer in the final seconds by Karonn Davis capped a furious second half rally as the Purple Eagles defeated the Marist Red Foxes, 69-66, on Thursday night from the McCann Center.
