Live VideoNIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara women's lacrosse team continues its challenging non-conference slate with a trip to Gainesville, Florida, to take on No. 4 Florida (5-1) on Saturday (Mar. 7) at 1 p.m. inside Donald R. Dizney Stadium.

NIAGARA TIDBITS• Niagara enters Saturday's contest 1-2, having won its first game of the season on Friday, Feb. 27 against Cincinnati after dropping a 14-7 decision to Lehigh in the season-opener. Most recently, the Purple Eagles held the No. 14 Ohio State to its third least number of goals scored in a game all year after falling in a 15-2 decision.
• The Purple Eagles offense runs through sophomore
Taylor Wolf and senior Carrie-Jo Farrguia. Wolf leads the squad with seven goals and two assists, while her teammate has pocketed four goals and one assist. Senior
Hannah Barnett has also chipped in on offense with three goals and two assists while
Erin Patenaude has added a team-high three assists on the young season.

Danielle Maio leads the way with 12 draw controls won, while Barnett and
Jillian Ford have each caused four turnovers.

Andrea Francisco has played just over 100 minutes after the trio of games this season, making 12 saves for a 1-1-0 record.
Amanda Yavorek made a career best eight saves in NU's loss to Ohio State. Overall, the sophomore has made 13 saves in 67 minutes of play, posting a goals against average of 12.43 and a save percentage of .481.
LAST TIME OUT• Despite keeping the score at 1-0 for the first 20 minutes of the game, Niagara was unable to get past the No. 15 Ohio State Buckeyes, falling 15-2.

Hannah Barnett led the Purple Eagles in scoring with one goal apiece.
SCOUTING THE GATORS• Florida enters the game on a five-game win streak after dropping a 17-11 decision to North Carolina in the season opener. In their five wins, the Gators are outscoring their opponents (Jacksonville, Michigan, San Diego State, Dartmouth and Loyola), 84-33.
• Shannon Gilroy, a Tewaaraton Award Watch List candidate, leads the Gators' offense with 28 points on 22 goals and six assists. Nora Barry, also on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, is fifth on the team with 11 points on nine goals and two assists.
• Mary-Sean Wilcox leads the defense with an 8.64 goals-against average and 12 ground balls. She's stopping 45.0 percent of shots faced.
FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING• This will be the first meeting between the Gators and Purple Eagles.
ON DECK• Niagara will wrap up in the sunshine state with a 4 p.m. matchup against Stetson on Wednesday, March 11 at the Athletic Training Center.
