Members Of Women's Swimming & Diving Team Donate To Locks Of Love

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - Nine members of the women's swimming and diving team took part in donating their hair for the Locks of Love organization this past weekend.

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under the age of 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.

"In the past, the team has gone for haircuts before our championship meet," stated head coach Ben Nigro. "After championships last year, they decided to use it as an opportunity to help others so that's exactly what they did."

Maggie King, Emma Pullano, Annie Eckhardt, Dakota Grantham, Cara Mergner, Bridgette Ehrmann, Grace Coyle, Clare Curran, and Grace McMahon all donated several inches to the organization.

The Purple Eagles have been preparing for the 2015 Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. For the fifth consecutive year they will take place at the Burt Flickinger Center at Erie Community College in Buffalo, N.Y. with Canisius College and Niagara co-hosting the four-day event from Feb. 11-14.
