After a draw against MAAC opponent Quinnipiac on Saturday, the Purple Eagles men's soccer team (1-8-2, 0-2-1 MAAC) concludes its non-conference schedule Tuesday. Niagara hits the road for a battle against the Pittsburgh Panthers of the ACC on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 6:00 pm.
Last Time Out- Niagara tied the Quinnipiac Bobcats, 1-1, in double overtime to earn their first MAAC point of the season.
- Freshman Alex Dimitriu chipped in his team-leading 5th goal of the season to earn the draw.
- Fabrizio Chiari tallied his team-high 3rd assist of the season to set up Dimitriu and get Niagara back in the game.
- The Purple Eagles have now had four matches go into overtime this season.
In the MAAC- As a team, the Purple Eagles' goalkeepers are second in the conference with a total of 49 saves.
- Niagara is fifth in assists (12), fifth in assists per game (1.09) and tied for sixth in the conference in total goals scored (6).
- Niagara continues to play with a physical edge each game, ranking in the top three in the MAAC for fouls committed with 138 through 11 games.
- Dimitriu is tied for second in the MAAC in goals (5) and goals per game (.50) and is tied for fourth in the conference with an average of 1.10 points per game.
Across the Pitch: Pittsburgh Panthers (5-4-1; 0-4-0 ACC)- The Purple Eagles are 1-4-2 all-time against the Panthers.
