Niagara has strung together two consecutive impressive performances which saw the Purple and White pick up back-to-back wins over 2014 NCAA Tournament participants. The Purple Eagles defeated Albany, 65-47, for their fewest allowed points in five seasons, and resumed MAAC play on Friday by defeating defending champions Manhattan, 73-61.
The Purple Eagles will be looking to even the all-time series with Monmouth. After winning the first-ever meeting in 2008, Niagara lost both meetings last season in the Hawks' maiden season in the MAAC.

Tipoff Tidbits• NU is seeking its first three-game winning streak since Feb. 2013 and consecutive MAAC wins since March 2013.
• The freshman trio of Matt Scott, Karonn Davis and Dominique Reid accounted for 49 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in the 73-61 win over Manhattan. Scott scored a game-high and Purple Eagle season-high 23 points, Davis added 14 points and six rebounds, while Reid scored 12 points and had a team- and career-best five assists
• Niagara had five players – Rayvon Harris, Ramone Snowden, Emile Blackman, Wesley Myers and Dominique Reid - in double figures against Arkansas State for the first time since Feb. 7, 2014 against Iona.
• Ramone Snowden dished out a career-high seven assists against Arkansas State. The seven assists are the most since Tahjere McCall had seven versus Manhattan on Feb. 9, 2014.
• The Purple Eagles had season-highs in points (73), first half points (42), field goal percentage (59.5%), 3-point field goal percentage (53.8%) and in assists (21) in the win over Manhattan.
• Niagara's 21 assists against Manhattan are the most since having 21 versus Saint Peter's on March 2, 2013.
• The Purple Eagles have committed the fewest fouls (212) and have the third fewest turnovers (151) in the MAAC.
• Niagara had a season-high +10 rebound margin in the win over Albany.
• According to KenPom.com, Niagara is the
SIXTH youngest team in the nation. NU has 13 underclassmen on the roster.
Niagara In January• The Purple Eagles are 17-13 in January the last four seasons.
• The Purple Eagles went 9-1 during the 2012-13 season for their best record in the month since 7-0 during the 1958-59 season.
On The CourtMonmouth Hawks (6-7, 3-0 MAAC)• Monmouth started its Western New York road trip by knocking off Canisius, 73-68, on Friday.
• The Hawks are 3-0 in the MAAC for their best start to coference play in 10 seasons. Prior to Canisius, Monmouth beat Marist, 57-50, on December 4 and Iona, 92-89, on December 7
• Deon Jones(12.8 ppg) and Justin Robinson (10.8 ppg) are averaging double figures.
Against the Hawks (Niagara trails, 2-1)• The first meeting between the two programs was during the 2008-09 season, which Niagara won 71-48 in the Philly Hoop Group Classic in Philadelphia, Pa.
• The Purple Eagles dropped both meetings to the Hawks last season in Monmouth's first season as a member of the MAAC.
