NIAGARA TIDBITS• After Niagara's victory over the Monmouth Hawks in the Purple Eagles' most recent outing, the team stands at 5-5 overall, and 1-1 in MAAC play.
•
Carrie-Jo Farrugia continues to lead the attack with 31 points off a team-high 22 goals and is second on the squad with nine helpers.
Maria Battista and
Erin Patenaude have also been dangerous in the offensive zone as Battista has 22 points (21 goals, one assist) and Patenaude is not far behind with 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists).
• All three netminders have seen time in the cage for NU with
Andrea Francisco seeing the majority of action. The rookie has made 52 saves in nine games for a 12.76 goals against average and a .374 save percentage.
LAST TIME OUT• The Purple Eagles pocketed their second straight win last Saturday after dropping Monmouth, 12-8, at the Kessler Field.

Carrie-Jo Farrugia snagged her 50th career goal with her first of five goals, while
Maria Battista pocketed three goals. Niagara also received scores from

TAKING A LOOK AT MARIST• The Red Foxes welcome NU with 8-2 overall mark, pushing their conference record to 2-0 on the season after 17-6 victory over the Iona Gaels last Saturday.
• Offensively Marist is led by Allison Gionta who has 18 goals and a team-high 10 assists in nine games. Four other Red Foxes have cracked the 20-point mark, including Jamie Romano (23 goals, one assist) and Kristen Viscount (17 goals, five assists).
• Abigail Witczak is the go to goaltender for the Red Foxes, making 67 saves for a .489 save percentage and a 8.01 goals against average.
ALL-TIME VS. MARIST• The Red Foxes hold a slim 12-7 advantage over Niagara in an all-time series that dates back to 1997.
• The teams squared off last season where Niagara was defeated by Marist, 22-8, on March 30 at Leonidoff Field. Five different Purple Eagles scored including Danielle Maio who had two goals and an assist, and Maria Battista, who posted two goals.
HALF A CENTURY MARK•
Carrie-Jo Farrugia recorded her 50th career goal against Monmouth on Apr. 5.
• After her five-goal effort against the Hawks, the junior pushed her career total to 54 tallies and point total to 90 in 40 games, 10 points away from cracking the 100-point mark. Farrugia is 11 points away from tying
Rachel Jones ('05) for the 10th spot on Niagara's Career Points list with
Maria Cutia ('00) holding the record with 202 points accumulated over four years.
ON DECK• Niagara will return to Monteagle Ridge on Saturday, April 12 when the Purple Eagles host Iona at 1 p.m.
• Including Saturday's contest, the Purple Eagles will play four of the final five games of the regular season at Niagara Field, with the only away game coming on April 19 when NU takes on Manhattan in New York, N.Y.
