"We battled today for 60 minutes, but had a very off day shooting," head coach Wendy Stone said.  "I am very proud of the effort all around."

The Purple Eagles were paced by junior Carrie-Jo Farrugia who pumped in three goals and added a pair of assists.  Freshman Erin Patenaude , senior Kayla Smith and junior Brittany Delano were the other multi-point scorers for the Purple and White as the trio recorded two goals each.  Senior Maria Battista and freshman Taylor Wolf also contributed a score each on the afternoon.

Smith and Delano led the Purple Eagles' defensive effort as they each forced two turnovers, while four Purple Eagles picked up three groundballs each.  Smith and senior Paige Matecki combined for 12 draw control win.

Freshman goalie Andrea Francisco posted eight saves before freshman Amanda Yavorek stepped in with 7:42 remaining in regulation and pushed aside a pair of Jasper shots.

Manhattan held a four-goal lead when the clock hit the 22:23 mark of the first half with Domenica O'Brey tallying her first two goals of the contest during that run.  The Purple Eagles stormed back with their own four-goal run starting with a free position goal from Farrugia.  Delano followed with her 12th goal of the season 51 seconds later before Farrugia netted her second free position shot.

After Smith evened the game at four apiece with 10:34 remaining in the half, the teams traded goals for the remainder of the stanza to head into the break knotted, 6-6.  Niagara's Delano and Patenaude added to the scoresheet, while Manhattan's Claire Roediger secured the pair of goals for the Jaspers.

Manhattan ran away with the game in the second 30 minutes of play as the Jaspers went on a 7-1 run in the first 17 minutes to establish a 13-7 lead over the Purple and White.  Niagara were able to bounce back and appeared to regain momentum with goals from Patenaude, Farrugia and Smith in a 54 second span, but the Jaspers netted two of the final three goals in the contest to pocket the win.  Wolf would be the final Purple Eagle to get on the scoresheet before the final whistle.
