NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara hockey plays its final home-and-home series of the regular season against the Mercyhurst Lakers on Friday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 22 at 7:05 p.m. Friday's game will take place at the Mercyhurst Ice Center, while Saturday's contest is set for Dwyer Arena.
After taking two points in a two-game series against Robert Morris last weekend, Niagara stands at 10-16-4 overall and 10-9-4 in the AHA, putting it in sixth place, 10 points behind league-leading Mercyhurst. Niagara secured a comeback victory off
Stephen Pietrobon's shorthanded game-winning goal in game one vs. the Colonials, while RMU blanked the Purple and White in game two despite NU getting a season-high 44 looks on net.
HOW TO CATCH THE GAMES
• Saturday's game at Dwyer will be available on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel, while Niagara's games against Mercyhurst on Friday and Saturday will be broadcast live on 1340 WLVL, with Paul Hamilton covering both contests.

NIAGARA LEADERS

Isaac Kohls and
Hugo Turcotte are neck-in-neck when it comes to who leads the Purple Eagle statistical board. Kohls is tops on the team in points (22), and goals (11), while Turcotte, who has 21 points on the season, is tied for the team lead in assists with Vince Muto (12).
Ryan Rashid has also been a key offensive contributor, pocketing 10 goals and nine assists in 10 games.

Matt Williams is first with a +13 plus/minus rating.

Isaac Kohls leads the squad with 102 shots on goal.
Patrick Divjak is close behind with 99 looks on net.
• Freshmen goaltenders
Jackson Teichroeb (4-10-2) and
Adrian Ignagni (6-6-2) have split time between the pipes in 30 games thus far, with Teichroeb owning a .900 save percentage and a 2.96 goals-against average and Ignagni with a .900 save percentage and a 3.11 goals-against average.

• Niagara took two points in a two-game series with Robert Morris, dropping the Colonials 5-3 on Feb. 13 before falling to its former CHA rival, 5-0 on Feb. 15. After the comeback victory off
Stephen Pietrobon's shorthanded game-winning goal in game one, the Colonials blanked the Purple and White despite Niagara getting a season-high 44 looks on net during game two to force the season split (1-1-1).

DEPTH PERCEPTION
• Twenty-four of the 27 Purple Eagles on the active roster (including goaltenders) have registered at least one point this season.
• NU have secured points from all the classes, as the freshmen lead the way with 76 points, with the sophomores not far behind with 56 of 218 Purple Eagles points. The seniors have collected 46 points, while the juniors have pocketed 40 points.
SERIES HISTORY
• The Purple Eagles and Lakers have met 16 times since their first meeting in 1996-97.
• Niagara holds an 11-5-1 record against Mercyhurst, sweeping its AHA foe during the 2012-13 campaign and suffering a loss in game one of this season.
• After their matchup during the 2001-02 season, the teams went nine years without a meeting before taking to the ice on Oct. 29, 2010 when NU joined the Atlantic Hockey Association.
SCOUTING THE LAKERS
• Mercyhurst currently owns a 17-12-5 overall mark, while holding a 15-4-4 AHA record. The Lakers sit in first place in the AHA standings with 34 points, two ahead of second-place Bentley.
• The Lakers' last pair of games came against RIT on Feb. 14 and Feb. 15 where Mercyhurst swept the Tigers, outscoring its foe by a 12-5 margin.
• The Lakers are averaging 3.47 goals a game and are allowing 3.00, placing them sixth and 42nd in the nation, respectively.
• The power play has gone 28-for-135, while the penalty kill is 120-for-145, ranking them 15th and 21st in the NCAA, respectively.
• Matthew Zay leads the offense with 40 points off 16 goals and 24 assists. Daniel O'Donoghue is just six points behind Zay with 11 goals and 23 assists, while Ryan Misiak has also cracked the 30-point mark (32) with 11 goals and 21 helpers.
• In the net, Jimmy Sarjeant has started in 24 of 25 games. Sarjeant has made 554 saves for a .949 save percentage and a 2.32 goals-against average.
