NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara University hockey forward TJ Sarcona was recently featured on ESPN's SportCenter after a spectacular shorthanded goal in the 3-0 victory over RIT on Friday, Jan. 24.

While the Purple Eagles were a man-down, the freshman intercepted an RIT pass and raced up the neutral zone towards RIT goaltender Jordan Ruby, going forehand to backhand before wrapping the puck around the netminder to push the Purple Eagles to a 2-0 lead.  The play ranked fifth in SportCenter's nightly top-10, and was also aired on ESPN's Olberman show.    

Sarcona and the Purple Eagles will bus to Rochester today to look for the weekend sweep over the Tigers.  Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m.
