The Niagara Purple Eagles wrap up their three-game road trip with a rivalry contest against the Canisius Golden Griffins on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m.
After picking up its first road win of the season on Thursday, Niagara fell at Quinnipiac on Saturday to split its conference road weekend. NU is now 2-6 in the conference while Canisius is in a four-way tie for first at 6-2.
The Purple Eagles are 18-4 in the last 22 meetings with the Golden Griffins and have won nine of the last 12 meetings at Canisius. The last two trips to the KAC saw Niagara pull out two remarkable wins. The Purple Eagles registered their largest road win in the series in MAAC play in Jan. 2012 and rallied from a 10-point second half deficit which was capped by a game-winning 3-pointer by Marvin Jordan with four seconds left in last season's trip.

Antoine Mason moved into 10th all-time in career scoring at Niagara on Jan. 18 after netting a game-high 28 points at Quinnipiac on Jan. 18.

• Canisius is second in the conference in field goal percentage (45.5) and 3-pointers (8.6 per game), while ranking seventh in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage and 19th in 3-point field goals made.Â
• The Golden Griffins have three players in double figures scoring: Billy Baron (23.1), Jordan Heath (11.5) and Chris Perez (10.8).

Battle of the Bridge
• The Battle of the Bridge, the all-sports competition between cross-town rivals Niagara University and Canisius College, enters its eighth season in 2013-14.
• After Niagara claimed the inaugural competition, Canisius won the series the next two years, before Niagara claimed the Canal Cup at the end of the 2009-10 season. With the series tied 2-2, Canisius edged Niagara for the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 titles.
• Niagara is currently trailing in this season's series, 6-5. The winner of the basketball game will receive two points.
