LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – The Niagara women's swimming and diving squad took to the pool against the Siena Saints on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 136-89 decision to their conference foes.
On the board,
Emily Hughes achieved career-high scores in both diving events, earning 226.06 points in the one-meter dive, while receiving 220.57 points in the three-meter event.
Freshman
Meredith Ricks swam a first place finish in the 100 backstroke, clocking in at 1:01.36. Several Purple Eagles pocketed second place times, including
Montanna Valler in the 1000 freestyle (11:02.60),
Sydney Kligys in the 50 freestyle (25.66) and the 100 butterfly (1:01.87),
Clare Curran in the 200 IM (2:20.63) and
Emily York in the 100 freestyle (56.29).
The 400 medley relay team, consisting of Ricks,
Grace Coyle,
Ashley Harrington and Kligys, clocked in at 4:10.08 to claim second place.
The men and women return to the pool tomorrow in Hamilton, N.Y. as the Purple Eagles meet up with Colgate. Competition is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
