NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara men's soccer team travels to play a pair of league games this week, starting with Canisius on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Demske Sports Complex in Buffalo, N.Y. The team will then face Monmouth on Nov. 2 at The Great Lawn at 7 p.m. in West Long Branch, N.J.

Purple Eagles 101
Niagara enters the week's contests at 3-10-1 on the year and at 1-4-1 in MAAC action, ranking 10th in the league standings.

Brenden Ottman has made nine starts in net as a freshman. Ottman has made 38 saves and allowed 10 goals on the year for a .792 save percentage and a 1.08 goals-against average.
Last Time Out
In its most recent outing, Niagara fell, 1-0, to the Iona Gaels six minutes into overtime on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Mazella Field. The Purple Eagles dropped to 1-4-1 in MAAC play with the loss.
Scouting the Griffins
The Golden Griffins enter Wednesday's match-up at 2-3-1 in conference play and in sixth place in the MAAC standings. Canisius has lost its previous two matches, a 2-1 defeat to Quinnipiac and most recently a 1-0 loss to Saint Peter's.
Will Hudson leads the team with 11 points off a team-high five goals and an assist, while a trio of Purple Eagles have netted three goals on the season – Nicolo Baudo (3-2-8), Asani Samuels (3-1-7), Alex De Carolis (3-1-7).
Ryan Arvin posts a 5-4-0 record this season and has made 52 saves in 12 appearances for a .776 save percentage and a 1.19 goals against average.
All-Time Against Canisius
Niagara leads the all-time series with Canisius that dates back to 1969, 24-20-3. In their most recent meeting, the Purple Eagles won, 3-2, on Oct. 13, 2012 at the Demske Sports Complex.
Scouting Monmouth
The Hawks will play Manhattan prior to hosting Niagara on Saturday. Monmouth stands at 6-0-1 in league action, currently on a seven game unbeaten streak (6-0-1) with its last loss coming in nonconference play against Central Connecticut on Sept. 28.
Jacob Rubinstein leads the Hawks with four goals and nine points, while Dave Nigro has tallied seven points, one assist and three goals.
Eric Klenofksy and Stephen Graziani have split time in goal this season. Klenofsky holds a 6-0-1 record, making 14 saves for a .875 save percentage and a 0.26 goals against average. Graziani is 1-5-2, owning a .639 save percentage and a 1.61 goals against average.
Been a Long Time
The Purple Eagles and Hawks have only met twice going into Saturday's contest, with Monmouth holding a 2-0-0 advantage over NU. The last time these two teams met was on Oct. 13, 1996 when Monmouth earned a non-conference win against Niagara at the Hawk's home turf.
What's Ahead for Niagara
Niagara will play its last home game of the regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 6, hosting Marist College at Niagara Field for a 2 p.m. kick off. NU will then play Manhattan College on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. in its final regular season game of the year.
