NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - Sophomore midfielder Micah Paulino will be taking to the field with Guam’s national soccer team, to play against the Azkals, Philippines’ national soccer team in an exhibition match June 12 in Bacolod City, Philippines.

"Micah is a tremendous ambassador for Niagara University and our men's soccer program," second-year head coach Chase Brooks said.  "We are excited about this opportunity he has to represent his national team."

Paulino has played for the Guam Football Federation National Team since 2005 where he captained the U-19 Soccer Team and participated in tournaments throughout Asia competing against teams from China, Japan, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Mongolia and others.

"We know he will see great success on the field with this team due to his passion and commitment to the game," added Brooks.

The Guam native participated in seven games at Monteagle Ridge as a freshman.  He came to Niagara from Father Duenas Memorial High School Chapter where he helped the Friars to two championships.  As a senior he was named the MVP of his high school soccer championship game, he is a two-time All Island Team honoree and was placed on the All Island second team as a sophomore.
