NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - The Niagara women's lacrosse team (0-2; 0-0 MAAC) hosts Little 3 foe the St. Bonaventure Bonnies (0-0; 0-0 A-10) in its home opener on Wednesday, March 7 at 7 p.m. 

The Purple Eagles dropped a 20-13 decision to Sacred Heart on Friday, March 2.  Senior Emily French scored a hat-trick against the Pioneers, while freshman Carrie-Jo Farrugia  netted two goals and contributed two helpers.  Junior Fran Pollastro leads the team in goals (5) and points (8). 

St. Bonaventure visits Monteagle Ridge having recently been slated to finish eighth in the Atlantic-10 conference.  While the team lost their program's all-time leading scorer in Christine Hanley, the Purple Eagles will have to contend with sophomore Cara Callahan who finished her rookie season tied for the team in scoring with 38 goals and adding six assists. 

Following the game against the Bonnies, Niagara will host Gannon on Saturday at 2 p.m.
