"Man-Up With A Moustache"
Help support the Purple Eagles in their effort to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation during their "Man-Up With A Moustache" fundraiser!  There will be donation boxes located near the ticket office, will-call and the ‘Chuck-a-Puck’ table at each home game throughout the weekend with fundraising totals added up after the second period of the Dec. 1 contest.  All donations received will be donated in Meghan Redenbach's honor to furthering the mission of Make-A-Wish, which is focused on serving children with life-threatening medical conditions.

The Purple Eagles are also asking that the Niagara community attending Friday’s contest against the Pioneers to rock their ‘stache and if you can't grow your own, the first 500 fans to attend the game will get a stick-on ‘stache!

Last Time Out
Niagara dropped a pair of Atlantic Hockey opponents two weekends ago, defeating cross-town rival Canisius, 2-1 and shutting out RMU, 3-0 the following day.

Ryan Murphy collected three points in two contests (2-1-3), including his fourth multiple-point evening of the season in the win over RMU.  Giancarlo Iuorio (1-1-2) and Marc Zanette (0-2-2) followed close behind with a pair of points each.

Carsen Chubak made a total of 74 saves in 120 minutes of play, making 31 stops against the Griffs, and adding another 43 saves in the win over the Colonials, one shy of his career-high.

Scouting The Pioneers
Sacred Heart comes to Dwyer Arena looking for its first win of the season, holding a 0-10-2 record, and a 0-7-2 mark.

The Pioneers’ offense is led by Eric Delong (4-6-10) and Brian Sheehan (4-6-10), with Nick Curry (3-4-7) and Drew George (3-3-6) adding points to the team total.

SHU has used all three goaltenders so far this season, with Steven Legatto playing the majority of minutes.  The senior owns a 3.99 goals-against average and a .886 save percentage in eight games played.

Last Time vs. Sacred Heart
The Purps played the Pioneers to a 1-0-1 record last season.  In the first contest, Niagara squeaked out with a 3-2 victory, but SHU battled back from a 3-0 deficit the following day to come out with a 4-4 tie.

Marc Zanette led the Purps in the pair of games with two goals, while C.J. Chartrain (0-2-2) and Isaac Kohls (1-1-2) also garnered two points.

One More To Go
Niagara head coach Dave Burkholder is one win away from 200 victories behind Niagara’s bench.  The victory would push Burkholder into the 26th position among winningest active coaches, passing Tom Serratore who has accumulated 198 victories with Bemidji State in 12 years.

Purps In The Polls
For the second consecutive week, Niagara is slated in the 20th spot in the most recent USCHO.com Division I Poll released Nov. 26.  The last time the Purps were ranked for two consecutive weeks was on Nov. 19 and Nov. 26 of the 2007-08 season when NU was ranked 17th in the nation.

The USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll has NU receiving 12 votes, just four spots away from being ranked in the top 15.  The Purple Eagles have also received recognition from D1Hockey.com which lists Niagara at the No.14 spot in the country, while Men’s Division I Pairwise Rankings has the team at 15 out of 27 teams.

Nine-Game Unbeaten Streak
NU has gone six consecutive games without a loss on the score sheet, and is currently on a nine-game unbeaten streak, going 7-0-2 in its last nine contests.  The unbeaten streak is the second longest in the nation, as No. 1 Boston College has gone 10 games without a loss.

Stingy Eagles
The Purple Eagles are a perfect 7-0-0 in Atlantic Hockey Conference action.  They have outscored their opposition 24-3 in those seven games – the fewest goals allowed by any team in the nation during conference play this season.

Niagara is one of two teams in NCAA Division I hockey, along with Quinnipiac, that are currently undefeated in conference play.  The Bobcats are 4-0-0 in the ECAC conference, while the Purple Eagles holds a 7-0-0 mark in the Atlantic Hockey Association.

Brickwall Defense
Niagara’s penalty killing unit has successfully stopped 73 of the 66 man-disadvantages, for a 89.4 percent success rate.
