NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - The Purple Eagles will attempt to keep their clean slate against AHA opponents this season against their cross-town rival the Canisius Golden Griffins on Friday, Nov. 16 to cap off a three-game road trip.
NU then starts a four-game homestand with Robert Morris on Saturday, Nov. 17 for its sixth-straight contest against a conference foe. Both contests are scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m.

How To Catch The Game
Niagara’s game versus Canisius and Robert Morris will be broadcasted live on WJJL 1440 AM and PurpleEagles.com, with Paul Hamilton on the call for both contests.
Saturday’s game will be available on LCTV.
Last Time Out
For the second straight week, the Purple Eagles swept a weekend series after shutting down Army 5-0 on Nov. 9, before dropping its conference opponent the following day, 4-1.
Seven Purple Eagles registered a multiple-point weekend, with
Isaac Kohls leading the way with a four points in two games (1-3-4), including a career-high three point night in the 5-0 victory on Nov. 9.
Seven-Game Unbeaten Streak
NU is currently on a seven-game unbeaten streak, going 5-0-2 in its last seven contests. The unbeaten streak is currently second longest in the nation, as Boston College is slated in the top spot having gone eight games without a loss.
Scouting The Golden Griffins
Canisius heads into Friday’s contest with a 2-5-3 overall record, and a 1-1-1 conference mark.
Preston Shupe leads the Golden Griffins in points (5), while Tyler Wiseman has been netting the scores for the team with three thus far. Four Golden Griffins have scored twice on the season.
Tony Capobianco will likely earn the nod in net, making 252 saves for a .926 save percentage and a 2.33 goals-against average.
Last Time vs. Canisius
The Purple Eagles went 2-0-1 last season against the Griffs, battling to a 1-1 overtime draw on Nov. 15, before taking the next two with a 4-1 win on Feb. 14 and 4-2 victory on Feb. 16.
Giancarlo Iuorio led the Purps with four points (3-1-4) in three games, while
Dan Weiss (1-2-3) and
Isaac Kohls (1-2-3) grabbed two points over the trio of contests.
Scouting The Colonials
Robert Morris comes to Monteagle Ridge with a 3-2-0 overall record, and a 2-1-0 record in AHA play.
The Colonials have received offensive contributions from all across the roster, led by Zach Hervato (4-3-7), and Colin South (3-4-7). Adam Brace (2-4-6), Scott Jacklin (1-4-5) and Jeff Jones (1-4-5) have also been a threat for RMU.
Eric Levin is the go-to goaltender for Robert Morris, making 165 saves for a 2.41 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage.
Last Time vs. RMU
The Purps played RMU five times last season, going 4-0-1 in that span which included a sweep over the Colonials in the 2012 AHA quarterfinals.
After tying RMU 2-2 on Dec. 9, NU took the next four, outshooting its opponent 9-3 in those four contests.
Isaac Kohls led the Purps with five points (3-2-5), while
Matt Williams added a goal and three assists in four games.
Purps In The Polls
NU appeared in the USA Today Division I Men’s Poll as well as the USCHO.com Division I Men’s Poll after sweeping the Black Knights this weekend. The Purps received one vote in the USA Today poll, and garnered 33 votes in the USCHO.com poll.
In The History Books
After his 27-save effort against Army on Nov. 9, Carsen Chubak became the first NU goalie to register three consecutive shutouts. Chubak is also now tied for third in NCAA history with three consecutive shutouts, in the company of goalies such as Jimmy Howard and Ryan Miller.
The following day, at the sixth minute mark of the second stanza against the Black Knights, Chubak found himself again making history, earning the record for most consecutive shutout minutes (258.32) by an NU goalie. Chubak took the top spot from Greg Gardner (’00) who held the record with 232.38 minutes.
