Niagara will visit the Siena Saints in an important early season conference game on Sunday at 1 p.m. airing live on Time Warner Cable.
Niagara (6-10, 1-3 MAAC) concludes its three-game road trip at Siena (6-8, 1-3 MAAC) and will be in search of its first win there since Jan. 27, 2005 (74-59) as NU was in a midst of a five-game win streak in the series. Since then, the Purple Eagles have dropped the last seven meetings against the Saints at the Times Union Center, which includes the 2009 MAAC Championship Game.
Both teams enter Sunday’s game 1-3 in the conference. The Purple Eagles challenged first place Iona well into the second half before falling 73-61 in their last game, while Siena is coming off of a 73-60 victory against Fairfield on Friday night.

~ Juan’ya Green, who has scored in double figures in every game this season, is tied for first amongst the nation’s freshmen and is 21st nationally in scoring with 19.6 points per game.
~ Green ranks in the top 10 in the conference in seven categories, including leading the MAAC in scoring, third in steals per game (1.7), free throw percentage (82.4).
and fourth in assists per game (3.7).
~ Green is fifth all-time in freshman scoring history at Niagara. He is 39 points away from passing Tyrone Lewis (‘10) for second place and needs 154 points to pass Garry Jordan (‘81) for most points by a freshman.
~ The freshman/sophomore class account for 89 percent of the scoring.
~ Niagara held Iona, the nation’s fifth highest scoring team, to its third lowest point total of the season (73) on Friday.
~ Marvin Jordan averaged 12 points in the two meetings with Siena last season, including five 3-pointers in the last game.
~ Niagara has alternated wins/losses in its last five games (lost last game).

Juan’ya Green is averaging 19.6 points per game to rank tied for 21st in the nation in scoring and is tied for first amongst freshmen.
Green Eyeing Freshman Records
Juan’ya Green is on pace to set the Niagara freshman scoring record which is currently held by Garry Jordan who scored 467 points during the 1977-78 season. Green has 314 points on the season and needs to average at least 10 points per game for the rest of the season. Green needs 78 field goals to break Jordan’s freshman field goals record (185).

Siena has won three of its last four games, including topping Fairfield on Friday night. Four Saints are averaging double-digit scoring, led by Evan Hymes (15.1). OD Anosike is one of two players in the MAAC averaging a double-double (13.2 ppg and12.3 rpg)

The Purple Eagles have won two of the last three meetings against the Saints. Niagara is in search of its first road win at Siena since 2005.
