Get To Know Your Foe: UConn
The UConn Huskies are 6-10-2, with a 5-6-1 AHA record. The Huskies are currently in eighth place out of 12 teams in the AHA.

The Huskies are led by a trio of sophomores in Brant Harris (12-6-18), Cole Schneider (6-12-18) and Billy Latta (4-11-15). UConn also gets solid play from juniors Alex Gerke (4-10-14) and Sean Ambrosie (3-10-13).

Garrett Bartus will likely earn the nod to play between the pipes, earning a 6-10-2 record with a 2.56 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage.

Last Time Vs. UConn
Niagara would fall in a 5-0 hole it would be unable to climb out of, falling to the visiting UConn Huskies by an 8-5 score on Dec. 4, 2010 at Dwyer Arena.

Scott Arnold netted two goals for the Purple Eagles, while Patrick Divjak earned a goal and an assist in the contest.

Climbing The Ladder
Dating back to Niagara’s Nov. 15 AHA contest against Canisius, the Purple Eagles have secured at least a point in their last seven AHA games. Niagara has earned 10 out of a possible 14 points during that span.

The 1999-00 team holds the Niagara record for longest conference unbeaten streak in a season, going 15-0-2 in the CHA. Including the 2000-01 team, Niagara topped out its unbeaten steak at 19 games.

Overall Success
Niagara is 3-1-4 in its last eight games, dating back to a 3-2 win over Sacred Heart on Nov. 26.

Tight Games

Fourteen out of Niagara’s last 17 games have been decided by a goal or less. Nine of Niagara’s first 18 games have entered overtime, with Niagara playing to seven ties.

Connecticut Success
Niagara is 1-0-1 so far this season against teams from Connecticut (Sacred Heart), with both games played on the road. Niagara is 4-1-1 in its last six games vs. Connecticut-based teams, playing UConn and Sacred Heart.

Fit To Be Tied
Niagara has already played seven games to a tie, breaking the program’s single-season record for ties. The 2006-07 and 2008-09 teams both played to six ties.

The AHA Road Show
Niagara is 3-1-4 in road AHA games so far this season, with seven of the eight games decided by a goal or less. The Purple Eagles have played well in road AHA games so far, with a good power play (17.5 percent, 7-for-40) and a strong penalty kill (88.6 percent, 39 of 44 penalties killed off).

Dan Baco and Divjak lead Niagara in AHA road game scoring, each with two goals, five assists and seven points.

Between The Pipes
Senior netminder Chris Noonan is in the midst of a five-game unbeaten streak, having gone 2-0-3 since earning the loss in the 7-6 loss to then-nationally ranked Colgate.

Noonan earned a 2.21 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage during his five-game unbeaten streak.
