Ian O'Rourke and
Ashley Jones each grabbed two first place finishes as the Niagara men's and women's swimming and diving teams fell to the Boston College Eagles Saturday afternoon at the Oxy Aquatic Center. The men dropped a 196-103 decision, while the women were defeated by a 198-96 margin.
O'Rourke continued his dominance on the board, taking first place in the one-meter event (316.50) and three-meter event (353.70). His final score for the three-meter dive broke his previous record of 350.05 set in 2009. Jones also placed first in both events, finishing the one-meter dive with a score of 246.75 and the three-meter event with a score of 225.75.

Also leading the way for the men was
Shane Baxter who continue his dominance in short distance events, grabbing two first place finishes in the 200-yard backstroke (1:54.88) and the 100-yard butterfly (52.60). Teammate
Corban Bothell finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle (10.14.86) while earning a second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:54.66.
Baxter,
Nate Resila,
Brian Sawma and Bothell teamed up for the 200-yard medley to swim a 1:39.88 for second place.
Aubrey Kettrick led the way for the women, earning two first place finishes in the 100-yard freestyle (55.46) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.36). In the 200-yard IM, junior
Lindsey Jackson touched the wall with a time of 2:19.41, good for second place.
The 400-yard relay team of Kettrick,
Emily Kisloski, Jackson and
Ashley Harrington placed first with their time of 3:49.76.
Niagara travels to Buffalo, N.Y. on Saturday, Jan. 21 to battle it out against cross-town rival Canisius at the Koessler Athletic Center Pool. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
