The Niagara Purple Eagles will host the Marist Red Foxes on Sunday at the Gallagher Center for a 2 p.m. tip.
The Purple Eagles are coming off of one their most efficient offensive performance of the season in their 85-73 win over Saint Peter’s on Friday in their first game inside of the Gallagher Center in 2012. Niagara, which led as much by 21 points, shot 48 percent from the field, 45.8 percent from the 3-point line and a season-high 80 percent (20-for-25) from the free-throw line.
Niagara has won five of the last seven meetings with Marist (7-10, 2-4 MAAC) and is 4-0 at home since the 2007-08 season. The Purple Eagles are looking for their first home conference weekend sweep since Feb. 12-14, 2010 when they beat Siena and Marist.

Juan'ya Green, who has scored in double figures in every game this season, is first amongst the nation’s freshmen and is 25th nationally in scoring with 19.2 points per game.
~ Green ranks in the top 10 in the conference in six categories, including leading the MAAC in scoring, second in second in free throw percentage (84.0), third in steals per game (1.8) and in assists per game (3.8).
~ Green is third all-time in freshman scoring history at Niagara. He is nine points away from passing Tyrone Lewis (‘10) for second place and needs 123 points to pass Garry Jordan (‘81) for most points by a freshman.

Marvin Jordan is averaging 12.3 points per game, 7-for-13 from behind the arc and 12-for-13 at the free-throw line in his last three games (all coming off the bench).
~ NU is second in the league in steals per game (7.9) and turnover margin (+2.56).
~ Niagara is in search of back-to-back MAAC wins for the first time since beating Marist on Feb. 2 and Loyola on Feb. 11 last season.

Juan’ya Green is averaging 19.2 points per game to rank 25th in the nation in scoring and is first amongst freshmen.
Green Eyeing Freshman Records
Juan’ya Green is on pace to set the Niagara freshman scoring record which is currently held by Garry Jordan who scored 467 points during the 1977-78 season. Green has 345 points on the season and needs to average at least 10 points per game for the rest of the season. Green needs 70 field goals to break Jordan’s freshman field goals record (185).
No Housewarming For MAAC Champs
Niagara is 6-0 at home against a defending MAAC champion since 2005. The Purple Eagles defeated Manhattan in 2005, Iona in 2007, Siena in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and Saint Peter’s this season.
