The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced the 2011-12 men’s basketball schedule for the 10-team league.
Niagara begins its 23rd season in the MAAC with two marquee matchups from the legendary ‘Taps’ Gallagher Center in December. The Purple Eagles will host regular season defending champion Fairfield on Friday, Dec. 2 and the Iona Gaels on Sunday, Dec. 4.
NU will start the New Year with three straight road games. The road trip begins on Monday, Jan. 2 at Loyola, followed by trips to Iona (Jan. 6) and Siena (Jan. 8). Niagara returns to the Gallagher Center for games versus Saint Peter’s on Friday, Jan. 13 and Marist on Sunday, Jan. 15.
The Purple Eagles will cross the Grand Island Bridges to play archrival Canisius on Thursday, Jan. 19 for the first Battle of the Bridge showdown of the season. NU will then travel to play at Manhattan on Sunday, Feb. 22.
NU will play host to Loyola (Jan. 27) and Manhattan (Jan. 29) before heading back on the road for games versus Fairfield (Feb. 3) and Rider (Feb. 5). The Purple Eagles will then have a crucial three-game homestand where they will play Siena on Feb. 9, Rider on Feb. 11 and Canisius on Feb. 15. NU will close out the regular season at Saint Peter’s (Feb. 24) and Marist (Feb. 26).

NU Basketball season tickets are on sale now and the deadline for season tickets renewals to secure seat locations is on Oct. 1. New this season is the option to purchase courtside seats which are available for only $300 for the season on a first-come, first-served basis.
