BUFFALO, N.Y. - Three more Niagara records fell on day two of the 2011 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, highlighted by sophomore Lindsey Jackson's performance in the 400 IM event. Niagara has now broken five school records so far during the MAAC Championships.
Jackson finished in second place in the event in a time of 4:31.98, breaking her old record of 4:34.56 from last year. The women's 800 free relay team, consisting of Jackson, Ashley Harrington, Emily Kisloski and Aubrey Kettrick, finished in sixth place in a time of 7:54.36, a second faster than the record set a year ago.
The men's 800 free relay team also set a new school-best in the event by a second, when the team of Evinn Drusys, Ryan O'Laughlin, Nick Squire and Jake Pisano clocked in at 7:01.49.
Ashley Jones took fifth place in the three-meter diving event, finishing with a score of 185.70.
The men's team currently has 194 points, sitting them in seventh place out of nine teams. The women's team currently has 226.5 points, putting them in seventh place out of 10 teams.
Niagara concludes participation at the 2011 MAAC Championships on Saturday.
