BUFFALO, N.Y.  - Senior Ian O'Rourke added to his already impressive resume on day one of the 2011 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, by winning the three-meter diving championship for the second time in his career.

O'Rourke added to his string of strong performances at MAAC Championship events, after sweeping both diving titles at the 2009 event. O'Rourke won the event with a score of 306.25,  11 points better than his nearest competitor.

The men's team finished day one in sixth place with 104 points, 17 points behind Iona for fourth place. Senior Evinn Drusys took seventh place in the finals of the 50 yard free event, clocking in at a time of 21.46.

The men's 200 free relay team, consisting of Drusys, along with freshman Nate Resila, senior Jon Matchette and senior Kevin Jennings, broke a school record that was set in 2010, by .32.

The women's team finished day one in sixth place with 101 points, just two points behind Iona for fifth place. Junior Ashley Jones took fourth place in the one-meter diving event, with a score of 191.70, while teammate Faith O'Malley finished with 182 points, good for sixth place.
