Hitting The Open Trail
Niagara continues on its 11-game road trip, the longest in program history, against the fifth-place Bentley Falcons this weekend. Following this weekend, Niagara takes on Robert Morris and Mercyhurst in single games. The Purple Eagles finish off their long journey with two games at the 2011 Mariucci Classic hosted by the University of Minnesota and a two-game AHA series against UConn.
Niagara’s 11-game road trip is tied for the longest road trip in the nation with Alabama-Huntsville, who will be on the road from Nov. 11 through Dec. 17.
How To Catch The Game
Niagara's games against Bentley will be broadcast on WJJL 1440 AM. Every game, including Niagara's games against the Pioneers can also be heard via Niagara All-Access for free, under the Multimedia tab of PurpleEagles.com.

Scouting The Falcons
The Bentley Falcons are 4-7-2, with a 4-2-1 AHA record. The Falcons are 2-1-1 in their last four games. The Falcons are led by sophomore Brett Gensler (3-8-11) and freshman Brett Switzer (3-8-11).
Branden Komm will likely earn the nod to play between the pipes, earning a 4-5-2 record with a 2.25 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage.
Success Against Bentley
Niagara has fared well against Bentley in the past, defeating the Falcons in both meetings between the teams. Niagara is 2-0-0 against the Falcons at Dwyer Arena, while this weekend marks the team’s first trip to Bentley’s John Ryan Skating Arena. Niagara has outscored the Falcons in the team’s previous two contests by a 9-4 margin.
Tight Games
10 out of Niagara’s last 11 games have been decided by a goal or less. Six of Niagara’s first 12 games have entered overtime, with Niagara playing to four ties.
400 Games Coached
Niagara head coach Dave Burkholder has been in his position for 376 games, second most amongst active Niagara coaches. Only softball coach Al Dirschberger (798/21 Seasons) and men’s basketball coach Joe Mihalich (408/14 Seasons) are ahead of Burkholder.
Burkholder’s 400th coached game will be Niagara’s second game of the 2011 AHA Playoffs. Including the games as an assistant coach, he has been on the NU coaching staff for 542 games.
550 Games!
Niagara has played 542 games as a hockey program, eight shy of 550. NU’s 550th game will be on Jan. 7 against UConn.

Sophomore goalie Cody Campbell is 2-0-1 so far in the month of November, with a 1.62 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage.
