Scouting The Crusaders
The Holy Cross Crusaders are 2-2-0 on the young season, with a 1-1-0 AHA record. The Crusaders are led by Adam Schmidt (4-2-6) and Andrew Cox (1-4-5), along with Shayne Stockton (2-1-3).

Matt Ginn has started all four games for the Crusaders, earning a 2-2-0 record with a 3.27 goals-against average and an .883 save percentage.

A Night of Firsts
Freshman goalie Colby Drost recorded his first career start in net, when he took to the ice against the then-No. 16 Colgate Raiders on Oct. 29. Colby made 42 saves to backstop the Purple Eagles to a narrow 2-1 victory over the Raiders. The reigning AHA Goalie of the Week also recorded his first career point, picking up an assist on the game-tying goal by Marc Zanette.

Tight Games
Niagara’s last five games have been decided by a goal or less, which is tied for the second longest streak in team history. The Purple Eagles played six consecutive games decided by a goal or less from Jan. 23, 2010 until Feb. 19, 2010.

Niagara has also played in five consecutive games decided by one goal or less from Nov. 23, 1999 until Dec. 11, 1999 and from Feb. 24, 2000 until March 10, 2000.

Benny’s Big Goal
Freshman Mike Benedict scored his first career point, first career goal and first career game-winning goal all in one fell swoop, scoring Niagara’s second goal of the evening to defeat then-No. 16 Colgate 2-1 on Oct. 29.
