Women's Lacrosse Lose to Iona, End Regular Season

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - The Niagara women's lacrosse team (2-11, 0-6) lost its final game in the regular season on Sunday 18-4 when it traveled to MAAC opponent Iona.

Iona capitalized on the Purple Eagles nine times in each half. Two Iona players reached five point on the contest, while an additional two scored four points.

Getting Niagara on the scoreboard was Emily Chayka (East Syracuse, N.Y.) who tallied two goals, Leigh Downing (Auburn, N.Y.) and Courtney Formato (Lancaster, N.Y.) who each tallied a goal.

Whitney Gill (Canadaigua, N.Y.)  was in net for the Purple Eagles and made 21 saves.

Erralyn Thomas (Ducan, B.C.) ended the season atop all three of Niagara's point charts. She lead the team with points (37), goals (28) and assists (9).
